When is my first appointment scheduled?

Your first appointment is scheduled during your 12th week of pregnancy. When you come into care keep an eye out in your email to begin filling out paperwork for your first appointment and reading up on additional resources we want you to have during that first trimester!

What should I bring to my first appointment?

In preparation for your first appointment please fill out your health history in the Client Portal. Bring the financial plan worksheet with you to your first appointment along with your $600 deposit. Come hydrated, nourished and with a light snack in preparation for lab work to be drawn. Please also bring a list or photos of any supplements or medications you are taking.

Do you file the birth certificate and social security card for the baby?

Yes, we file all of the documentation needed for birth certificates in Idaho or Washington. This documentation triggers the social security card to be issued, if you wish.

Can I have a VBAC at home or in the birth center?

First Trimester FAQ's

What can I do for morning sickness?

Stabilize your blood sugar! Eat small, frequent protein-focused snacks. Set alarms to remind yourself if necessary. Hydrate, and make sure to add electrolytes. You may also consider researching supplementation with magnesium, B6, chlorella, ginger, etc. As always, speak with a care provider about your options. If you have struggled with hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme nausea and vomiting) in previous pregnancies, look into the HER foundation.

Should I take a prenatal vitamin?

Supplementation of some sort is generally recommended as our food quality and environmental stressors often leave us depleted in some capacity. There are many options for supplementation, but where a general prenatal multivitamin is concerned, you want to ensure that it is whole food based and includes bioavailable vitamins and minerals. Make sure to prioritize methylated b vitamins, as the synthetic versions can block the absorption of the bioactive version of the vitamins you would otherwise get from your diet. For example, look for methylfolate instead of folic acid. Check out this handout on our top Recommended Prenatal Vitamins.
